WELCOME TO OLARGUES
A MEDIEVAL VILLAGE in the High Languedoc Regional Natural Park
Olargues, one of the "Plus Beaux Villages de France", occupies an exceptional site, perched on a rock in a meander of the river Jaur, at the foot of the "Sleeping Lady" (la "Femme Couchée") and dominated by the "Luminous Mountain" ("Montagne de Lumière"), the Caroux.
From its Romanesque marble bridge, you can climb the narrow, cobbled streets to reach the ruins of the 12th century medieval castle, surmounted by its symbolic bell tower.
This is Olargues, a centre for walking holidays or peaceful relaxation, under clear blue skies, in a typical rural Mediterranean landscape.
